Another Confusing Aspect of LOST

So LOST is a show about the survivors of a passenger jet traveling from Sydney, Australia to LAX that gets stranded on an island. On that island are:

- about a billion American people

- two Korean people

- one Hispanic and two Hispanic/American people

- a French woman

- an Iraqi guy

- a Nigerian guy

- a Scottish guy

- a Russian guy

- like three or four English people

- a guy named Paulo who I'm not exactly sure what he is

- a crap-ton of confusing Latin-speaking people of various races who build Aztec temples covered in Egyptian hieroglyphics and worship an immortal (?) white guy.

- and only one steady Australian character.
