...and it's been a different blog, but I'm back. I have come to realize through much soul-searching that micro-blogging on privacy-enabled websites (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Formspring, Ha! You forgot about Formspring, didn't you?) leaves much to be desired and lacks a certain intimacy. Some of the best things I ever wrote were on my previous blog. After letting the custom domain run up, however, I drifted away into obscurity.
I still kept somewhat in touch a with a few of my fellow bloggers. I have had the opportunity of meeting Katie Bekah as well as Soul Skittles in person and was almost able to meet Adam, had he not been summering the whole way across the country. As far as I know, their old blogs have died as well. I myself am finding Blogger's new setup somewhat awkward, though I suppose it was for the best. I guess that's what happens when you leave off blogging for 3 years!
So much has changed since then. I moved away from my humble Amish country and neat little patch of acreage and my chickens and rabbits and dogs. I am now living in a dead little steel town as a homeowner and hope to be able to move back to the country sometime within the next 4 years. I finished college and got a job right out of school first as a hostess, then as a secretary.
Some time before I quit blogging, I became acquainted with a certain brown-eyed boy. We spent a lot of time together as friends, and then a short period dating, and even shorter period of engagement, and we've been married now for a year and a half. Several months after our wedding we found out we were expecting our first child and Dulcie has been a member of our family now for about four months. I'm so incredibly happy and blessed.
It's been a while since I've picked up my alvarez, since in between taking care of a house and a family and trying to keep up with other hobbies has left me somewhat stretched for time. I expect I won't be posting on this blog with the same regularity as my old one, but I hope to be able to bring a smile to your face once in a while and maybe meet a few new friends.
